By Jing Rong Yang
Translated by Mayflower
The cloud’s mother is that river
To whom it turns into rains of tears
down spattering
Whenever it wants her
The river’s mother is the ocean
Towards whom it surges with not even one pause
Echoing in the waves a song of longing
The ocean’s mother is the endless
starry firmament
To whom the waves like to mumble
whenever looking upwards
And the tides like to take it home
Oh, my longing, like the cloud
like the ocean, like the starry heaven and the long river
To the boundless firmament
I call upon mother
The ocean quiets down the waves
In the tranquil darkness
A crane flying across the starry
heaven
